Inspiration

When do you receive inspiration?   Are you always at home, at your crafting table?  Do all your great ideas come to you when you call to them?

Me either.

My inspiration comes all the time, and rarely when I am ready for it.  Sometimes I am driving around, and see architecture that inspires me.  Maybe, I am watching TV, and see a commercial that inspires a new color scheme.  I could be in church, and see how the light hits a piece of jewelry.

That is why I carry this little book around with me. Whatever it is that inspires us, comes randomly and when we least expect it.  So, carry a paper and pen with you, and jot it down.  I can't say I really have this with me all the time, that's why I have numerous sheets of paper floating around with sketches on them.  Good luck keeping your ideas all together.

Be inspired!

Hang those Quilts

For years I pondered about the best way to display my quilts.  I tested many different methods, including the hanging sleeve so many quilters use and love.  Now, I have found a method I prefer much more, and I thought I might share it with you.  I now use simple curtain rods with clips to display my quilts.  I love this method because it is so easy to get the quilts up and down, and I love the look of the curtain rod as well.

Here's a more modern look, by the much loved Ikea.  You may think to yourself....uhhhhh, did you forget the quilts?  The quilts, are at the publishers, for the moment.  But I long for a quilt or 5 to adorn this wall again.

Curtain rods come in all shapes, sizes, and prices.  Look around if you are financially challenged.  I found great deals at Tuesday Morning, sales at Target, and other close out stores.

HOT!

Hot off the Press!!!

As the children streamed through my door after school today, my youngest presented me with a UPS package. I opened it to find this happy little pack of papers. I have to say I was so happy. I looked through all the pages to find a book that is to my liking. I couldn't contain myself, I had to peruse all the pages, even though my babykins was nursing on my lap. That's okay, I am sure he doesn't mind piles of papers on top his head, right?

What a fun experience this has been. I love seeing my quilts in this new "light," and I even miss them. Someday, my quilts and I will meet again. I have loved working with Martingale Publishing. Every stop along the way has been made easy for me. They have been so helpful, and I love the product we are putting out. HOW FUN! So, now comes the process of proofing. I hope I can catch any and all mistakes, so my future readers can have an enjoyable quilting process.

HIP HIP HOORAY!

Happy New Year

For those who don't know already, I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I love our temples because they are a symbol of our belief in the Eternal nature of familes, and remind us of our Savior.

If you have been following my blog, you might know about my to do list for Christmas. The neighbor gift ideas kept changing, and they ended up being pictures of the Mesa, AZ temple. I have loved making new photos of the SLC, Mesa, Seattle, Columbia River, and Albuquerque temples. I have created a group on my Costco.com account, with just these photos. If you are interested in getting a copy for yourself, let me know your email, and I will invite you to the group. The only requirement is that you use these for personal use ONLY! You may not mass produce them, sell them, etc.

Happy New Year!
